Payment Methods

All payments are in Hong Kong Dollars (HK$).  US Dollars listed are for reference only.  The prevailing exchange rate is US$1 = HK$7.8.

  • Cheque (for Hong Kong registrants only) in Hong Kong Dollars issued by a Hong Kong bank should be made payable to “Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data
    Please write down your full name, name of organisation and registration number at the back of the cheque and mail it to the Conference Secretariat.

    The Conference Secretariat will send you the bank details by email upon receipt of your registration. All the bank charges should be borne by remitter.

 

Registration confirmation will be emailed to the registered delegates when the Conference Host has received the full payment.

 

Registration Rules and Regulations

 

  1. Each registrant should complete a separate registration form.
  2. Registrations are subject to acceptance on a “first-come-first-served” basis.
  3. Registration can only be processed with full payment of the required fees, by PayPal, cheque or bank transfer. Please DO NOT send cash.
  4. Registration fees will be charged in Hong Kong Dollars. The prevailing exchange rate is US$1 = HK$7.8 (for reference only).
  5. Registration acknowledgement will be issued and sent to you through email upon receipt of your registration form. If you have indicated to pay by cheque/bank transfer, please follow the instructions listed in the acknowledgement to settle the payment within 14 days. Registration will not be confirmed until your payment is settled.
  6. A letter of registration confirmation will be issued and sent to you through email within 14 days upon receipt of your full payment. Kindly check the details in the confirmation. Any changes or alterations must be made in writing to the Conference Secretariat ([email protected]). If you have not received the confirmation within 14 days after payment, please contact the Conference Secretariat.
  7. Registered delegates should bring along with the letter of registration confirmation or show the eCopy of it to complete the check-in procedure at the Conference venue.
  8. Refund for cancellation of registration will be made and subject to the following deadline and handling fee:
    Written notification of cancellation received
    on or before 31 August 2017
    Full refund with a deduction of HK$1,000 handling fee
    Written notification of cancellation received
    after 31 August 2017
    No refund
    • Notification of cancellation must be made in writing via email to the Conference Secretariat ([email protected]).
    • You must indicate your name and registration number in the notification of cancellation.
    • All refunds will be processed after the Conference. The Conference Secretariat will notify the delegate by email about the refund arrangement and payment method.
    • Canceling your registration does not automatically cancel your hotel and travel arrangements. Individuals are responsible for canceling their own hotel and travel reservations.
  9. No refund or discount will be made if an inclusive function or event (e.g. Authorities’ Welcome Reception, Authorities’ Dinner, Sky Reception, etc.) within the registration fee is not taken up or is subsequently cancelled.
  10. No-shows will not qualify for a refund of fees. Refunds or credits will not be given for unattended events or early departure.
  11. Registration fees do not include accommodation, airport transfer or visa application.
  12. Participants are strongly advised to secure appropriate travel and health insurance. Registration fees do not include any insurance coverage. The Conference Host accepts no responsibility for any loss in this regard.
  13. The Conference Programme is subject to change without prior notice. In the unlikely event of cancellation of the Conference, the only and maximum liability of the Conference Host is to refund all the registration fees paid.
